
Lawrence Schieken, MD, FAAAAI, FACAAI, is a board certified Allergist/Immunologist and Past President of the Maryland Asthma and Allergy Society.
He completed residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Allergy/Immunology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He founded and directed the Comprehensive Asthma and Allergy Center in Columbia, Owings Mills, and Annapolis and the Chesapeake Asthma and Allergy Center in Easton from 1988-2020. He joined Schreiber Allergy in September 2023.
Dr. Schieken has worked as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Allergy and Immunology at the University of Maryland. He served as the Chairman of the Committee on Sports Medicine of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, where he contributed to the publication of the Practice Parameter on the Pathogenesis, prevalence, diagnosis, and management of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Schieken enjoys photography, pickleball, hiking, working out and spending time with his amazing family.
