Dear Patients,
We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy – and is as excited as we are that Montgomery County is starting to reopen. As we move into Phase 1, we wanted to let you know that we are increasing our in-office visits and capacity accordingly. Please know the health and safety of you and our staff remains our primary concern, and we continue to both aggressively clean and limit the number of people in the waiting room and office at all times.
What we are ramping up:
- Skin testing, patch testing, and oral challenges are back! We will still start initially with a Telehealth visit, and then plan for testing in the office soon after. This limits your in-office time and exposures as well as ours. We have had a very positive response to working this way, and it is effective.
- Allergy Shots: We are now able to increase the frequency of allergy shots, so those patients in escalation may now come in once a week. If you are on maintenance, you may continue coming once a month. If you have not been in for your allergy shot during COVID, but are interested in restarting, please schedule a telehealth visit so we may discuss your dose and have serum ready for you when you come.
- Oral Immunotherapy: Many of our current OIT families have continued to come in for updose visits, and we are proud of the progress they are making! We are now beginning to start new OIT patients (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, milk, soy, sesame and shellfish) so if you are interested in starting, please contact us.
- Camp/School forms: As summer approaches, some camps and programs are opening and you may need forms completed. Please reach out to our office and our staff will help coordinate this.
And a friendly reminder… All patients must wear a mask at all times in our office, and we are continuing our policy of having children accompanied by one adult only.
Again, please stay safe and healthy! Continue to wash hands and practice physical distancing.
Our doors are open, and as always, we are here for you!
